I'm doing the last tweaks and corrections in my re-written version of the book, and I am researching the meaning of mask, what it symbolizes and why people wear masks... In Venice, for example, they wore them to keep the feeling of freedom as they were sailors and were used to openness and freedom of the sea, yet once on shore they did not feel the same freedom in a small town of Venice, so they wore masks... For them wearing a mask was the way to hide in order to be themselves...

Personally, I wouldn't wear a mask to stay free or be myself, I just like being myself despite what people might think... ;-) And this, in many cases, is the only way to success.

Today I received a beautiful reminder that there are still romantic people out there. There is a person, a boy, I met in a boutique in Dubai, his name is Max... We talked about dreams and their fulfilment, about following your heart and being adventurous... His dream is Barcelona. We didn't exchange numbers, just names, and I told him about my book. Today, my friend from Zurich who does not know him sent me an extract of their chat from one of the Russian speaking sites... He simply wrote to people asking to pass on a message that he is looking for me, and the password is "Dream about Barcelona"... He said, she will know... Of course I know... Well, he made my day today! To you Max! ;-)

Japan’s month long rainy season (tsuyu, 梅雨) usually ends in mid-July, and that means there are precious few days left to savor its SPECIAL BEAUTY. Many Japanese consider Ajisai (紫陽花, or hydrangea) to be the quintessential flower of this season, as they look just right when wet, and enshrouded in mist.

Hydrangea have another Japanese name, however, nanahenge (七変化), or seven transformations, which derives from the flower’s unique characteristic. The colors of the petals change according to the chemical make-up of the soil! This feature has given the flower rich symbolic meaning in Japanese art and poetry — especially to represent a fickle and changing heart. It is because of this characteristic too, that hydrangea were shunned by the warrior class in the feudal period, because for them, changing colors, or by extension loyalties, was anathema .

I love all flowers, and here in the UAE I miss them a lot, but there are some available in stores. Today I cycled to one of the malls here in Marina where I saw a beautiful purple-blue hydrangea in a flower shop in there. I liked the sight of it and bought it. Back at home, I searched online for the meaning of this flower and found out that it is mostly grows in Asia, and is widely spread in Japan, China and other similar climatic countries. The symbolism of this delicate flower is enlightenment (Chinese meaning). The flower is abundant with beautiful petals and one can easily be lost in thought while looking at it, thus reaching enlightenment.

I do feel for men who have to deal with masses of such women. I'm not sure where exactly this stupidity stems from: is it an acquired 'skill' or just imprinted at birth? I do want to believe it is the later, for if it is the latter then the earth population is degrading at a very fast speed. But what can men do really in this situation? I guess try to enjoy their life as much as they can, using female stupidity to their own advantage. If I were a man I would do the same.
